Anne Sofie Madsen by Sandra Jawad.
One of my favourite Ones to Watch designers this season was Anne Sofie Madsen, a Danish designer inspired by a love of drawing and animalism. She trained at the prestigious Royal Academy of Arts School of Design and has worked for both Dior and McQueen, where she has honed her impressive skills.
Anne Sofie Madsen by Rose Crees.
Susie Bubble picked up on Anne Sofie back in 2009, impressed not only by her ability to mix texture and structure, but also her rather wonderful fashion illustrations.
Her A/W 2012 capsule collection featured plenty of loose layering in pale duck egg blue, gold, off white and black, either curled in alien-esque spirals across chest and waist or fringed at wrist and thigh. A tribal head was picked out in white on white appliqué, and a long sweater dress featured an animistic image of girl in mountainscape, electric eels swimming away into a snowy sky.
On one spectacular dress a sheer bodice was delicately picked out in polka dots, a foil for the tumbling textures of the front panel. Swinging bags complemented the look, which was accessorised with glistening black DM boots. Definitely one to watch.
