Shampoo bottles, soap packaging, water bottles, food packaging and dishwasher soap wrappers: single use plastic wraps (pardon the pun) itself round our everyday lives. Without a second thought we rely on this material of convenience to seal our consumer demands.

Think you can live without the stuff? USA based Leave No Plastic Behind have made a call for the artistically gifted to enter under the theme of Episode 4: "Haste Management," with the chance to exhibit at Visage in November 2008 and an opening night at the Pearl District's First Thursday art walk. In return for this high exposure, Leave No Plastic Behind ask artists to refrain from purchasing any single use plastic for the 3 month period prior to the submission date, instead using any accumulated plastic to inspire their creative work. Entrants must apply by 15th August, completed artwork must be submitted to Visage by October. Have a peek on the site for more details.
