When I covered the Camberwell College of Art summer show in July, Save Our Souls, I was captivated by Katie Brookes' large scale intricate drawings, pleasantly titled 'The Pathway to Hell'. Katie's work was one of my favourites there, and it's great to see that she has a solo show later this month.

Descent of Life, a little cheerier than last time, is Brookes' response to seemingly small stories. Influenced by Flemish Renaissance artists, her work is beautiful in the flesh and I can't wait to see more of it.

The exhibition runs from the 19th January to the 18th February at Art Work Space.
