Show Your Face at Cultivate
Faye West is joined by lots of other upcoming female artists in a self portrait exhibition curated by the VV Collective.
Fri 27th January 2012 – Thu 2nd February 2012
Cultivate, Vyner street, London, E2 9HE
Category: Art

For six days only grab the chance to see a portrait exhibition at Cultivate, put together by the Vivian Vile Collective of progressive female artists and illustrators. Featured artists include our very own Faye West, much admired for her delicate fashion illustrations. All have been asked to answer the brief Show Your Face, inspired by a quote from Frida Kahlo - “I paint self-portraits because I am so often alone, because I am the person I know best.” The results examine self perception of the female form.

The VV Collective is the brainchild of Bex Massey and Ellie Green, who together have set out to provide a platform for emerging female artists. Other featured artists include Jenny Leonard (represented by Debut Contemporary) and costume designer Lesley Asare.
The exhibition is open between 11:30am-6pm on Saturday and Sunday or by appointment during the week.
