Enchanted Forest

"When I was choosing illustrators to participate in the exhibition it was important to me that they had a strong narrative style and really diverse work. I really loved working with Natsuki Otani, Yelena Bryksenkova and Lesley Barnes with the Amelia’s Shelter project, and thought our work looked great together, so they were some of my first choices to work with. I also asked Laura Barrett, Emmeline Pidgen and Karolin Schnoor to participate. All the artist’s work has a real sense of magic, and for many of them Grimm’s fairy tales have already been source of inspiration in their work.

The project came about from my own need to produce new work that wasn’t directed by a client. I want to produce new work that I felt inspired by. With the theme being Grimm’s Fairy Tales, Foyle’s Bookshop on Charring Cross Road is the perfect location. Foyles are really excited about the project and have been really supportive form the beginning. We have also just found out we will be getting support by way of a grant from IdeasTap, which is amazing."
