Uniqlo by Rebecca Higgins of Rebecca May Illustration.
We had some wonderful entries for our Uniqlo fashion illustration competition to celebrate the launch of their new range of Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat UT t-shirts, and were blown away by the imaginative interpretations of our callout, which asked illustrators to imagine their choice of t-shirt worn and styled to their taste. The overall winning entry is by Rebecca Higgins of Rebecca May Illustration, who created the stunning image above. I love the way she shows the t-shirt worn in movement, with an echo of the print design in the graphics used to create depth behind her model. It’s a simple but very effective image which underlines the street history of Keith Haring‘s work, whilst bringing his graphics bang up to date. Uniqlo say: ‘We felt that this illustration captured the spirit of the artist and the Uniqlo brand in the most relevant way.‘ Rebecca receives two tickets to travel by Eurostar to Paris and two tickets for entry to the new Keith Haring exhibition.
You can view the rest of our wonderful entries below. Read the original brief here and see all the entries with comments (please do add your own!) on the Uniqlo facebook page here. Enjoy!
