I am loving the sound of Object Dating, which will be featured as part of the work in progress show at the Royal College of Art this week. Artist and jeweller Hollie Paxton explains:
‘My aim is to discover the extent of how powerful objects we surround ourselves with can be. How much can you discover about a person from 5 simple objects? Can it be enough to inspire a potentially meaningful relationship? As it’s a fully functional dating website, I’m hoping lots of people will have a great date and hopefully be introduced to a new friend or potentially something even more exciting!’
Hollie Paxton would like as many creative types as possible to get involved, so if you like the look of her project why not get… Object Dating! Who knows where it could lead.
You can see this and other work at the Fashion; Goldsmithing, Silversmithing, Metalwork & Jewellery; Painting; Sculpture; Textiles work-in-progress show between 10am-5.30pm from 12th-18th January 2012 at the RCA, Kensington Gore, SW7 2EU. Well worth a gander I’m sure.
