Edun was launched by Ali Hewson and her rock star hubby Bono in 2005 to raise awareness of the possibilities for trade in Africa, with the proviso that all clothing is made with respect for the people who make the clothes, the place where they live and the materials used. Every factory along the supply chain is audited to ensure that everyone is treated fairly. In 2008 Edun established the Conservation Cotton Initiative in Uganda to support farmers with funding and training, and to ensure that they use sustainably produced cotton...
