Wood Festival 2015-review year of the bee
This year, as ever, the weather was absolutely gorgeous for Wood Festival: plenty of sunshine and dry underfoot despite the downpours a few days previously. I managed to persuade my friend (and fellow mum) Helen of East End Prints to accompany us as I knew that Snarf would love to feral around with his lil’ mate (we went to the Buddhafield Green Earth Awakening Camp together last year, read my review here) and we arrived in time for a late lunch on Saturday, staying through to Sunday evening.

Sparkly Christmas Songs

Glorious Christmas music! Love/Hate whatever, your Christmas wouldn't be the same without it. Helen Martin rounds up a collection of Christmas beauties both old 'n' new, for your pleasure.

Illustration by Lorraine Nam When I worked in retail I found that the Christmas cd was despised. It was locked away, the repetition of the jingly notes, a killer. I’ve […]

A chat with Vessels on tour in Europe.

Leeds post rock band Vessels are just about to return to our shores after a lengthy European tour, so I decided to find out what makes them tick.

Vessels by Octavi Navarro. I am somewhat enamoured with the new EP from Vessels, a Leeds band who favour an expansive yet melodic post rock orchestral sound. A few days […]
