Single Review: Mechanical Bride – To The Fight

The new Mechanical Bride single is released on 5th December 2011 on Transgressive Records. With an intriguing video inspired by an ancient Greek fable.

Mechanical Bride to the fight
Mechanical Bride returns with the new single To The Fight, a beautiful slice of dramatic indie folk that Bat For Lashes fans will adore.

The track is released today on Transgressive and comes accompanied with an enigmatic video of singer songwriter Lauren Doss running along the streets of Saltdean on the Sussex coast, then rushing out across the open fields before slowing to a pace on the beach. The concept for the video came from Lauren and is based on the fabled run of the Greek soldier Pheidippides, a messenger from the Battle of Marathon. He ran hundreds of miles in two days to deliver the message of battle victory - it was a physical battle of the body, demanding duration, determination and strength.
